What is the relationship between international logistics and globalization?
2022-11-18
1. Related research on international logistics
There are numerous researches on international logistics at home and abroad, which, however, generally speaking, includes more micro-researches and less macro-researches. Because this paper focuses on the macro perspective, it mainly summarizes the relevant literature in this field.
2. Evolution process of international logistics development
It is a common paradigm in academic circles to research the development and evolution of logistics by stages, but there are few similar achievements in the research of international logistics. Moreover, the theoretical circles generally pay attention to the narrow concept of logistics as a modern management method, rather than the broad concept of the change of cargoes relative to time and space referred in this paper. Among the few research achievements, the historical starting point of research is mostly since the formation of modern logistics concepts in the middle of the 20th century.
For example, the preface of China Market in 2011 describes the development history of international logistics, which has mainly gone through three stages: 1950s to early 1980s, 1980s to early 1990s and early 1990s to the present, and describes the changes in international logistics awareness, facilities and equipment, management technology and service mode in each stage.
There are also some researches on the development of international logistics from the perspective of the emergence, development and decline of various transport modes. For example, according to Rong Chaohe's transport theory mentioned earlier, each transport stage corresponds to different transport modes, and also corresponds to the integrated development relationship between international logistics and industrialization & globalization. The contribution of such research to this paper lies in the in-depth research on the development and evolution law of each transport stage, especially the interaction law between transport and industrialization process, which reveals the core economic relationship of transport.
